Behind the harbour in the old fishing village, Aarsdale, lies an old and authentic Mission House at the end of a small and quiet road. The holiday home has a beautiful location on Bornholm's east coast, just a stone's throw from the idyllic Svaneke. The house was worn, dreary and situated on a car park when the family took it over five years ago. Since then they have lovingly restored it with terraces, an outdoor bath and planting of various berry bushes, as well as an apple and almond tree. The family has also made a point of preserving the house's original architecture with the large hall with pulpit and inscription on the wall, which now serves as a beautiful and open kitchen-living room and lounge with socialising as the focal point. The ground floor also contains a large bedroom, a small toilet and a large entrance, and the old choir on the first floor has been fitted with soundproof glass and arranged as a bedroom with a view over the hall. In the garden is the house's only, but most beautiful bathroom with both shower and bathtub. (There is no indoor bathroom, only a toilet). The house is furnished in soft colours with interior from Bornholm to reflect the peace and tranquillity that the local community offers. The house also includes an annex with a double bed - this can only be used from 1 May to 15 September as it is not fully insulated. The maritime mill and fishing town, Aarsdale, offers a cosy harbour environment with a sauna for winter bathing and a couple of active fishermen, a beautiful beach just 100 metres from the holiday home, a grocery shop and Mikkeler has opened a good restaurant and bar in the summer. After a meal in town you can take a walk to the town's most famous landmark, namely the well-preserved mill from 1877. If you have good walking shoes you can also go to the beautiful nature and forest area, Paradisbakkerne, with many good walking routes. If you follow the nature trail three kilometres north you reach Svaneke, and five kilometres south you come to Nexø, each of which is quite special in their own unique way.
