Hirtshals Lighthouse was built in 1863 during the reign of King Frederik VII, whose monogram still adorns the tower above the entrance. Since then, the light has safely guided sailors past the dramatic dunes and cliffs along the coast. Today, the lighthouse stands as a proud symbol of Hirtshals – a beacon of strength, history, and North Jutland charm. The surrounding area is peaceful and scenic, where you can enjoy sunsets, sea breeze, and the sound of crashing waves – all just outside your door.

The lighthouse itself rises 35 metres above the ground, and the light sits 57 metres above sea level. Climb the 144 steps to the top, and you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of Skagerrak, Hirtshals town, and the surrounding landscape – an experience you’ll never forget.
