Description
Typical Småland manor house in typical Småland surroundings
This is Småland! The holiday home is only about 15 minutes' drive from Vimmerby with Astrid Lindgren's World and everything else that symbolizes this wonderful landscape!
If you appreciate Småland, you will certainly enjoy staying in this holiday home and this environment. There is plenty of space for up to 10 people. There are 10 beds, so two families can travel together, or why not take a holiday as an extended family with grandparents, children and grandchildren – all together.
This large manor house building functioned as an inn in the early 1900s, and in the middle of the 1900s cows and horses were bred on the farm. The house is personally furnished with a mix of different styles, and there are as many as 11 rooms, 2 entrances, kitchen, 2 toilets (on the first and third floors) as well as a shower room.
On the ground floor, which is about 100 m2, there is a double bed and 1 sofa bed (140 cm wide) for 2 people. On the 2nd floor, which is about 50 m2 with sloping walls, there is a double bed, a 140 cm wide bed and 2 single beds. There are 4 bedrooms, but not all rooms have doors. The first floor is like the ground floor about 100 m2. There is plenty of space and rooms where you can enjoy each other's company and also retreat and enjoy some "alone time".
In the kitchen there is a cooker with oven, a wood-burning stove if you want to try cooking the old-fashioned way, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker etc. There are a total of 3 TVs in the house with free Swedish channels. One TV also has Chromecast.
There is a cot and high chair on the premises, and on the large terrace there are garden furniture and a grill. There is a rowing boat in the lake about 2 km away, which you can borrow from the owner.
There are really good excursion opportunities. In addition to a visit to Astrid Lindgren's World, you must not miss walks in the beautiful forests, which are rich in wild berries and mushrooms, if the weather has been favourable. A trip to the beautiful coast towards the Baltic Sea can also be recommended. Tjust Archipelago and Misterhult Archipelago are fantastically beautiful and here it is also lovely to fish and swim. It is free to fish with rod and line.
The house is normally rented in weeks 21 to 36, but if you are particularly interested in another week, this may be possible after prior agreement with the owner.
