A warm welcome to a lovely home for up to 4 people who enjoy life. If the weather is good, it is a fantastic feeling to cook in the well-equipped kitchen (oven, stove, microwave, small air fryer, dishwasher, coffee maker and electric kettle), put the food away and walk perhaps 30 seconds to the lake to eat the food while the sun sets.

This special place is known for its fantastic sunsets, and if you stay for a week in clear weather, you will probably have many wonderful pictures on your mobile! The holiday home and beach are on the right side of Vänern for magical sunsets.

The holiday home itself is modern and fresh, there is a bedroom with 2 single beds. Living room and kitchen are combined, and the other 2 beds are in a sofa bed. The dining area is a higher "bar counter" with high chairs, so all 4 people can have a wonderful view over Vänern. Bluetooth speakers are available. Wifi 5-G, smart TV, Chromecast, Netflix.

The bathroom has toilet, shower cubicle and washing machine with top-loading operation. Water and sewage are municipal.

Behind the house is a small roofed terrace, where it is cosy to sit on a rainy evening or when the wind blows from the lake. A glass of wine perhaps with candles on the table.

Pets are welcome, but remember to keep your friend under supervision, as there are several holiday homes in the area, and road 26 runs close by.

2 bicycles are on site, which you are free to use (provided nothing has happened due to a guest before). The grounds are perfect for play and relaxation.

Vänern is the largest lake in the entire EU (the 26th largest in the world), and no matter how hard you try, you will not be able to glimpse the western shore of the lake, but it feels more like a freshwater sea. Fishing in Vänern is free for everyone with a fishing rod and hook.

A walk along the lovely promenade must not be missed. If it is summer, it can be fun for the children to go to Askevik's camping approximately 400 metres away. There is a playground, restaurant and surely a new friend to get to know.

The area is one of Sweden's most popular destinations when it comes to excursion opportunities. 7 minutes by car or 20 by bicycle brings you to the wonderful Sjötorp, where the Göta Canal starts. Google Göta Canal, and you will not miss that place. 12 minutes by car in the other direction brings you to Gullspång, perhaps best known for Gullspång salmon. The salmon is unusually large, but threatened, and therefore the area is one of the EU's Natura 2000 areas. There are salmon ladders you can visit, and with a bit of luck you will see one of the giants pass.

Mariestad is the nearest larger town, a charming little town with around 17.000 inhabitants, many restaurants, cafés and all the major grocery stores.

The cottage is best suited for a couple seeking relaxation, or perhaps a family with small children. Not suitable for youth groups, as there are several houses next door inhabited by quiet families.
