Description

Charming Norwegian log cabin with grass roof

This charming older Norwegian log cabin with annex invites you to the ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With its 3 bedrooms and space for 8 - plus a baby cot - and an annex with a double bed for 2, it is perfect for families, a group of friends, a work team or simply those who need peace and quiet. The house is located in a forest area in the middle of Mols Bjerge National Park. A PATH LEADS THE LAST STRETCH OF THE WAY UP TO THE HOUSE. THIS PROVIDES AN EXTREMELY DISCREET LOCATION, BUT AT THE SAME TIME MAKES THE HOUSE UNSUITABLE FOR THOSE WITH MOBILITY DIFFICULTIES.

The older, cosy design creates an authentic and relaxing atmosphere. It is not wild luxury, but perfect for those who want to enjoy the surroundings and who wish to be close together and enjoy each other's company.

New mattresses were installed in August 2024 in the main house. The double bed in the annex is 200 cm long and 180 cm wide - the other beds in the main house are 195 cm long.

The area around the property is a real treasure trove for nature lovers, as the house is located in the middle of a forest area where you wake up to birdsong. The area offers unlimited opportunities for activities and relaxation. The fresh air and beautiful natural surroundings ensure a wonderful experience. A pleasant walk through Molsbjerge leads directly to a lovely natural beach with clean sand and further on you will find a beautiful bathing bridge, which adds an extra dimension to your bathing experience. On the beach there is an ice cream kiosk, and around the corner from it is a restaurant, cafe and a small shop.

The house itself, with its rustic charm, invites cosy evenings. The living room and kitchen are open plan, creating a cosy setting for cooking, cosiness by the wood-burning stove with one of the house's many board games or with creativity and time and peace to enjoy each other's company. The outdoor terrace and bonfire area are ideal for outdoor dining with a grill and there is plenty of opportunity to play, play ball, splash in the paddling pool, pitch a tent and do other activities around the house. There is plenty of firewood around the area and around the house. You are welcome to use it if you chop new wood and refill. There are also materials available to make fencing for e.g. a rabbit. Remember to provide shelter for the rabbit, as there are eagles in the area. Cats are not welcome in the house, and dogs must not get on the beds. It happens that other forest animals venture close to the house. The annex contains, in addition to a double bed, a small table. Here you have the opportunity to retreat and write, read or just have some alone time if there are several of you together.
There is a washing machine and clothes are hung to dry under the terrace, on a clothesline outside or possibly on a clothesline over the wood-burning stove.

There is bus transport near the holiday home both to Femmøller Strand with the small shop and further to Ebeltoft, one of Denmark's most popular holiday towns with the beautiful old town hall, half-timbered houses and the many shops, restaurants and cafes in the narrow cobbled pedestrian streets, where there is a market, activities and life all day long and where the beautiful town guards walk their rounds and sing the sun down.

There is also a bus from the holiday home towards Rønde, where there are good shopping opportunities, several cafes, a pharmacy and small shops. From here there are buses further to Aarhus. If you don't have a car, you can also use flex transport.

The entire area is packed with short driving distances to tourist attractions and exciting activity offers for children and adults. In addition to forest and beach and Ebeltoft town, there is the Frigate Jylland, the Glass Museum, Ree Zoo, Kalø Castle Ruins, Scandinavian Zoo, Djurs Sommerland, Gamle Estrup, Denmark's Manor House Museum and much more. There are several providers of horse riding on Icelandic horses, and sport fishing and there are also a couple of nature centres. If you are into wellness there are good opportunities in many places including at Lubker Spa and Wellness, where the family can also swim or use the water slide or you can go to Rønde for a Thai massage at Suksabay.

NB- Outside Danish school holidays and outside high season, a motocross track located 1.5 km from the holiday home can be heard up to 2 times a week for a few hours - depending on wind direction.
