Located in the idyllic Thorøhuse, an old fishing village with a natural harbour, only 2 km from Assens. The house has a large terrace with a view of the water, garden furniture, orangery, 2 loungers and grill available. There are excellent bathing, kayaking, windsurfing, kitesurfing, spearfishing, fishing and hiking opportunities right on the doorstep as well as the most beautiful sunsets. The Property The location by the sea and near beautiful nature with a small cosy natural harbour with fishing boats makes our property something special. The house is located in the old part of town with charming small streets in the fishing village of Thorøhuse. Our house is surrounded by old thatched houses from the 1800s. Around and in Thorøhuse you will find beach meadows with birds and rare plants. There is a wave beach with a bathing jetty facing south and a shallow child-friendly beach 200 m from our house. Likewise, there are shorter or longer hiking trips to Sønderby Klint, Thorø and Jordbassinerne in Assens. Assens, an old market town from the year 1524, is located 2.5 km from Thorøhuse. Assens offers, among other things, shops, museums, restaurants and Tobaksgården with musical events. In addition, the town has 3 discount stores and SuperBrugsen. There are excursions to Bågø by ferry from Assens harbour or the opportunity to ride rail bikes in West Funen. To the south there is Saltofte beach, Sønderby Klint, Aa Strand, Hagenskov Gods, and the beautiful Helnæs. Restaurants such as Gl. Brydegaard and Gl. Avernæs, which focus on local ingredients, organic produce and animal welfare. We look forward to you coming and taking a holiday in our lovely house, and you are welcome to use the pesticide-free herbs from the garden. The house and surroundings are suitable for couples and families. There is a weekend bed available for small children, as well as a child safety gate at the stairs on the 1st floor. The house is 130 m2, and the kitchen is brand new. Other things worth noting Grethe and I strive to care for nature and show care for people. We save on our water. We take short showers and have water-saving taps. We collect rainwater for the garden and orangery. We do not use artificial fertiliser, only natural fertiliser. We use no pesticides. We sort all our waste. There is no organic waste leaving our garden, we make our own compost and compost heaps. We try as much as possible to buy second-hand items. Our Airbnb guests are welcome to pick herbs from the permaculture garden.
