Here you live almost in the dunes and only a few minutes' walk from the North Sea. The little yellow house with red tile roof sits unusually freely on a large natural plot, surrounded by marram grass, open vistas and views of the dunes. It is a place that suits perfectly a holiday at a slow living pace, where the day is allowed to follow the weather, the light and trips to the beach. The house originally dates from 1887, and the special charm is felt especially in the low ceilings (we recommend guests are max 185 cm tall), which give the rooms a cosy and intimate character.
The Flyvholm area is known for its raw, beautiful west coast nature, and here you get it up close. The sea and beach are only about 175 metres from the house, so it is easy to start the day with a walk over the dunes or end the evening with a view to the horizon. Shopping and restaurants are within two kilometres, so you live peacefully without being isolated. If you want to go on an excursion, both Thyborøn with its harbour environment, JyllandsAkvariet, Sea War Museum and Sneglehuset are within short driving distance, just as Bovbjerg Lighthouse and the ferry to Agger offer good opportunities to experience more of the coast.
Inside, the house offers 88 well-utilised m² with a bright and calm interior. The living room is the house's natural gathering point with visible, whitewashed ceiling beams, soft rugs, a large sofa and terrace doors that open the room towards the dunes outside. The many mullioned windows draw daylight in and offer fine views of the marram grass all the way around. The dining area is in open connection with the living room and is furnished with classic wooden furniture, which underlines the house's simple and homely style. The kitchen has what you need for holiday meals, including ceramic cooker, electric hotplates, refrigerator, separate freezer of 90 litres and microwave. The house has a bedroom with a total of two single beds, and the room on the upper floor is furnished as a bedroom/living room, which makes it ideal for a small family, two couples or friends who want flexible sleeping arrangements.
Outdoor life is a big part of the experience here. The sheltered terrace by the house is furnished with garden furniture, and the covered part makes it easy to sit outside for long. There is also a hammock, sun loungers and a gas grill, so both quiet afternoons and simple grilled dinners have good settings. On the other side of the house is another large terrace right up against the beautiful nature, where a rustic picnic table creates a nice spot for morning coffee or lunch in shelter. The large plot gives plenty of space around the house, and dogs are also welcome, so two four-legged family members can come on holiday.
Practically, the house is well equipped with fast fibre internet, free WiFi, TV and both Chromecast and Apple TV, so it is easy to stream films, series and music. The bathroom is simple and functional with shower and toilet.
The house is non-smoking, and electric heating provides comfort on cooler days. If you are looking for a holiday home with soul, the sea nearby and a location that invites quieter holiday days, this is a particularly good choice. Here it is easy to find a simple rhythm with beach trips, good meals and plenty of time together.
