A deposit is an amount held as security against any damage to the holiday home, and it is returned to you after your stay if the house is left in the same condition as on arrival. Both amounts are charged by the agency that rents out the house — not by Ferieboligsiden — and the amount, deadlines and conditions are set out in the rental terms for the individual house. Yes, almost always based on actual consumption via meter readings at arrival and departure. The rate (typically 2.50–4.50 kr/kWh) is stated on the property's page.
